SAN FRANCISCO, March 23 (Reuters) – Oracle is overhauling its cloud-based financial software that major companies use artificial intelligence Agents, with the goal of letting people ask the system business questions and letting the AI figure out how to find the data.
The changes, which Oracle planned to announce at an event in London on Tuesday local time, are part of a broader trend in which providers of highly specialized enterprise software are redesigning them so that they can be used by AI agents that can perform tasks on behalf of human users.
Shares of Oracle have fallen about 40% this year as the company has been hit by investor concerns that AI tools will largely replace complicated business software. Oracle executives have argued that the company is using AI tools to keep its software ahead of these changes.
