Oracle is facing a possible class action lawsuit over data breaches affecting millions

Oracle Corp.the Austin-based tech giant, is facing a potential class action lawsuit this year over multiple data breaches affecting millions of people.

A federal judge in Austin is currently considering whether to consolidate the more than 30 cases into one. A decision on this could come at the beginning of the new year. A decision on the class action lawsuit could come within a year.

The lawsuits stem from at least two data breaches Oracle E-Business Suite in July and August by cybercriminal group Cl0p. The Russian-speaking cybercrime organization is known for mass ransomware attacks that exploit previously unknown security holes, so-called zero-day exploits.
