Oracle Health Data Breach Impacts ChristianaCare Patients

DELAWARE– ChristianaCare says some of its patient data was stolen in a nationwide cybersecurity attack on Oracle Health, formerly Cerner Corporation. The organization confirms that its own networks were not affected and clinical operations continued without interruption.

According to a statement from the health system, Oracle Health notified ChristianaCare in April that an unauthorized third party accessed legacy Cerner systems and accessed certain data as early as January 22, 2025. ChristianaCare said Oracle Health launched an investigation, brought in outside cybersecurity specialists and cooperated with federal law enforcement, who asked to delay patient notifications during their investigation.
