Enterprise software giant Oracle is reportedly planning to cut thousands of jobs due to increasing financial pressures from its aggressive push to build AI-focused data centers.
The Tech powerhouse could cut 20,000 to 30,000 jobs and potentially shed 12-18% of its global workforce of about 162,000 employees, according to tech magazine CIO reported.
The layoffs could be implemented as early as March 2026, Bloomberg reports reported.
The move comes amid a cash crunch due to massive data center spending, which Wall Street expects will keep Oracle’s cash flow negative for years and force the company to look for alternative ways to preserve cash, Bloomberg said.
