Oracle announces .2 billion investment in TikTok’s US business following divestment from ByteDance, holding 15% stake

On Wednesday, Oracle Corp announced that it has invested around $2.2 billion in the new US company TikTokconfirming a 15% stake following the restructuring of the platform’s American operations.

Details of the investments were disclosed in Oracle’s quarterly filing for the period ended Feb. 28, in which the company reported about $2.2 billion in “non-marketable debt and equity securities.”

The filing said the vast majority of those holdings were with TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, the company created to oversee TikTok’s U.S. operations.

The restructuring stems from a 2024 national security law signed by the former president Joe Biden requires the Chinese parent company Byte Dance Divest TikTok’s US business or face a nationwide ban.

Later, President Donald Trump approved the divestment via executive order.

Previously Vice President JD Vance said the new TikTok company is worth around $14 billion in the US.
