Oracle and Google Cloud Collaborate on Innovative Multicloud Alliance

Oracle and Google Cloud have teamed up to provide customers with the option to combine their respective technologies to accelerate application modernization and migrations. This partnership will begin with Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud available in 11 regions worldwide, allowing for the deployment of general-purpose workloads without inter-cloud data transfer charges. Later this year, a new offering called Oracle Database@Google Cloud will be launched to provide customers the highest level of Oracle database and network performance, along with feature and pricing parity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Both companies will collaborate to bring Oracle Database@Google Cloud to the market, benefiting customers across various industries such as financial services, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing. This partnership aims to meet the growing demand for multi-cloud flexibility and seamless integration between Oracle’s database services and Google Cloud’s innovative platform, AI capabilities, and tools.

Oracle@Google Cloud Database allows customers direct access to Oracle database services running on OCI within Google Cloud data centers. This offering is designed to facilitate the migration to the cloud, enabling customers to modernize their IT environments and leverage Google Cloud’s artificial intelligence infrastructure. Customers can take advantage of flexible migration options, simplified purchasing, and contracting experiences, and unified customer support through Google Cloud and Oracle.

The partnership will also see Oracle operate and manage Oracle Database services in Google Cloud data centers globally, starting with regions in North America and Europe, with further expansion planned. Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud provides customers with a private inter-connect between OCI and Google Cloud regions without data transfer charges, allowing for low latency and high-performance network connectivity.

These new multi-cloud capabilities aim to provide an integrated experience for deploying and managing Oracle Database instances within Google Cloud, facilitating the movement of data and the deployment of cloud-native applications across both platforms. This collaboration will enable organizations to leverage the strengths of both Oracle and Google Cloud technologies while advancing their cloud capabilities.

Oracle’s distributed cloud offers a range of cloud solutions, including dedicated, hybrid, public, and multi-cloud options. With Oracle’s distributed cloud offerings, customers can run all OCI cloud services in their own data centers, manage deployments in over 60 countries, and access hyperscale public cloud regions tailored to their specific needs.

Google Cloud, on the other hand, provides a comprehensive suite of cloud services focused on artificial intelligence, infrastructure, developer tools, data management, security, and collaboration. Google Cloud offers a fully integrated AI stack, planet-scale infrastructure, generative AI models, and AI-powered applications to help organizations transform and innovate in the digital era.

Overall, the partnership between Oracle and Google Cloud aims to provide customers with enhanced cloud capabilities, seamless integration between platforms, and innovative solutions to drive application modernization and migration efforts.
