Businesses are feeling the fallout of the Optus outage this morning, as Sydneysiders made their way to the CBD for work.
Café owner John Chen said his EFTPOS machine, network systems and mobile are all currently down.
“Customers cannot pay their bills … people are back to the Stone Age, coins only,” he said.
He predicted the 95 per cent of his foot traffic rely on card payments.
He’s concerned about how the outage will play out if it’s not resolved soon.
“I might have to shut the business down for the day.
“There’s no trading today.”
