Telstra CEO Vicki Brady says some Optus customers defected to Telstra last week during the nationwide outage on Wednesday.
Addressing shareholders at the company’s investor day this morning, Ms Brady said while she took no pleasure in seeing issues at her competitor, Telstra had seen an increase in customers.
Last week there was a 14-hour nationwide outage which left Australians with Optus unable to use their phones.
The telecommunications company revealed a technical issue was the cause of the outage.
After the connection was restored the provider announced it would provide customers 200GB of free data as an apology for the disruption.
