(Pocket-Lint) – Opera on Chrome OS is now “optimized for Chromebooks” with a bespoke version of the venerable browser now available, based on the Android version.

With 30 million Chromebooks sold in 2020 and projections of another 40 million sales in 2021, Opera says Chrome OS has become a more important platform than ever.

Opera wants to present itself as a central alternative to Google’s Chrome on the platform. There are also built-in unlimited VPN and ad blockers and messaging apps. Yes, you can send WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger / Instagram messages straight from the browser.

Twitter support is also integrated. Everything is accessible from a simple sidebar, so you no longer have to scroll to other apps or your phone while on the go. There is also support for digital currencies with a built-in wallet.
