The work we do and the way we do it is constantly changing. Each of us has a memory of how we once regularly completed a task, what tools we used, and how both the task and the tools have changed so much since then that they are almost unrecognizable. Because we live and work in the “now,” change feels both personal and rapid. So it’s always worth remembering that this has happened before, perhaps not just in this way or at this speed.
And it’s true. AI is rewriting work. How we do our work. How roles change. How careers are built. The skills we need. Some of it is exciting. Some of this can feel overwhelming. What we remember and what we have learned from earlier times is that in such moments people are open to work and not just need new tools. You need a new way of thinking, a clearer understanding of what is changing and a path forward.
