Other founding members of the OGA are Dell Technologies, DriveNets, MobiledgeX and PacketFabric. However, the OGA does not seek to define specific technology implementations and is open to all interested parties, Vapor IO CEO Cole Crawford told VentureBeat. In fact, the UCI deliberately refrains from creating any formal foundation structure, added Crawford. “Many people suffer from foundation fatigue,” he said.
Vapor IO today offers its own framework for integrating edge computing platforms and distributed data centers to enable machine-to-machine communication, which forms the core of many IoT (Internet of Things) applications.
