Like the OnePlus Nord CE 5G finally on his Summer launch event, let’s go into another model that could be coming next month. The OnePlus Nord 2 would be a direct replacement for the current one OnePlus North and sit over the new Nord CE (Core Edition) 5G – a lite version, if you will.
There were rumors about a new flagship north for some time, but as the summer event approached it looked less likely. However, this was more of a UK-only event than a global launch. The original Nord wasn’t released in the US, but with the popularity of the N10 and N100 models, a Nord 2 could make it onto the state side.
The Nord 2 will apparently have a 6.43-inch FHD + AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a fingerprint sensor in the display, similar to the current Nord, and in 8 GB and 12 GB versions. And while the front 32 MP remains the same, the main camera in the rear triple camera array is updated from 48 MP to 50 MP.
The new information comes from 91mobiles.com in cooperation with the regular Twitter leaker, @onleaks (above Pocket fluff). The most interesting specification, however, is the processor. Instead of the Snapdragon 765 5G, 91mobiles claims that it will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200. In terms of performance, this is closer to the Snapdragon 865, but probably a cheaper solution. In order to cope with this more powerful processor, the battery should also be increased from 4,155 mAh to 4,500 mAh.
In terms of pricing information, the numbers for the Indian market are listed at around 2000 RMB or Rs 22,300 (£ 220 / $ 312 / AU $ 403) which seems low, especially since the Nord CE 5G will start at Rs 23,000. I assume we’ll see a UK / US price of around £ 400 / $ 400.
