There is a whole thread in the official OnePlus forum Here users have documented heating problems with their OnePlus phone. In particular, many users have reported that the phone displays an overheating warning when using the camera app, especially when recording 4K video at a high frame rate. When the overheating warning is displayed, the system automatically blocks certain functions. For example, the camera app won’t let you click photos when the phone is overheating.

Several buyers have left bad reviews, especially after problems with overheating and battery discharge with the OnePlus 9 Pro. The heating issues are unfortunate, especially considering the fact that OnePlus has spoken and advertised at length about the updated thermal management hardware in the OnePlus 9 Pro. The company has yet to acknowledge why the newest OnePlus flagship is going to be toasty, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear about it.
