Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced that the company has successfully shifted its workload from Microsoft’s Azure to its own Krutrim cloud platform. This decision was made after Ola-owned Linkedin removed a post by Aggarwal criticizing Microsoft’s stance on gender pronouns. Aggarwal took to social media to confirm the migration, stating that all workloads have been transferred to Krutrim and the company is now spending zero on Azure. More than 2500 developers have already signed up to access Ola’s cloud services on Krutrim in the coming weeks.
This move by Ola could result in a loss of over Rs 100 crore for Microsoft in India. Aggarwal had previously announced his commitment to migrating out of Azure and offered other developers a full year of free cloud usage on Krutrim if they choose to switch from Azure.
