VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – An Ohio company has filed a lawsuit against a woman after she reportedly left a bad review on Google.
According to WFMJ, Starr Manufacturing Inc., out of Vienna Township, Ohio, has filed a lawsuit against a woman from Columbus, Ohio, after she allegedly published malicious, false and defamatory accusations against the company in a 1-star Google review.
Per the report, the company said that it “has suffered and sustained damages, including but not limited to expenses incurred, significant reputational harm, and special damages” after the review was published in March.
Starr Manufacturing Inc. is seeking compensatory and punitive damages “in an amount exceeding $25,000,” as well as attorney fees and litigation costs, WFMJ reported. The filing further states that the lawsuit was filed due to concerns that the defendant “will continue to post and publish the false and malicious allegations in the review on the internet.”
