Nvidia Shield TV gets yet another update with quality-of-life improvements

Over six years after the last hardware release, Nvidia Shield TV continues to get updates, this time with the 9.2.2 upgrade rolling out with some quality-of-life improvements.

Detailed on Nvidia’s forums, Shield Experience 9.2.2 was first released last week and is more widely rolling out as of the past day, as noticed by Shield owners on Reddit and APKMirror owner Artem Russakovskii.

This is by no means a major update, but it brings a handful of notable improvements.

The latest Nvidia Shield TV update is focused on quality-of-life, a noble goal for a device that, at bare minimum, is about half a decade old. Nvidia has made tweaks such as adding a pairing alert sound to the Shield Remote and Controller, a settings UI for accessibility timeout, and a new “Bounce Keys” feature that isn’t detailed. Nvidia says this should also fix a bug where audio would drop out when watching Disney+ content.
