A new leak from Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) suggests NVIDIA is pausing RTX 50 series production to repurpose GDDR7 memory for its AI GPUs. This claim comes hot on the heels of another report suggesting that the RTX 5070 Ti and 5060 Ti 16GB have reached the end of production.
The RTX 5070 Ti is currently in short supply, and its prices have skyrocketed, a situation that also applies to the RTX 5090. This has led Moore’s Law Is Dead to believe that NVIDIA is effectively halting RTX 50 series production to prioritize AI demand.
This article provides a brief overview of the new RTX 5060 production leak and explains the current GPU market situation.
NVIDIA has reportedly overbooked AI GPU sales, pausing RTX 50 series production

According to Moore’s Law Is Dead’s supply chain source, a distributor, NVIDIA has overbooked AI GPU sales, leaving very few memory resources available for consumer RTX 50 series graphics cards. The source stated:
“I just got done with multiple phone calls with AIBs – it sounds like the 5060 is done for the next 6 months. Everyone says Nvidia vastly overbooked AI sales, and therefore needs to pause almost all RTX 50 Series Production until at least Q2 2026. The 5090, 5070 Ti, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, and 5060 will soon be unobtanium… and the 5080, 5070, and 5060 Ti 8GB will trickle in with incredibly low volume.”…
