Fortune and Indiggo have once again collaborated to release the ROL100 ranking, which highlights the ReturnOnLeadership of the top 100 Fortune 500 companies. ROL® is a metric that assesses key fundamentals crucial for reducing risk and increasing success, and Indiggo uses an AI platform to calculate this ranking with publicly available information.

In the latest ROL100 ranking, AI giant NVIDIA claimed the top spot, followed by Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Delta Airlines, and ConocoPhillips. Companies in the top 25 of the ROL100 had an average EBITDA per employee of $111,000 and an average three-year revenue growth of 11.8%, while companies in the bottom 25 had significantly lower figures.

The correlation between purpose-driven leadership and success is evident in the ROL100 ranking, as top-ranked companies tend to outperform those lower down the list in terms of revenue, profits, and growth. NVIDIA’s rise to the number one spot was attributed to its strong performance in strategic clarity, leadership alignment, and focused action rather than stock performance.

The technology sector has shown significant growth in the ROL100 ranking, surpassing healthcare this year. Eight technology companies and five healthcare companies were among the top 25 on the list. Investing in forward-thinking leadership has proven to be beneficial, with the ReturnOnLeadership Index outperforming the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average in the past three years.

Overall, the ROL100 ranking provides valuable insights into leadership performance and its impact on company success. By evaluating key fundamentals like purpose connection, strategic clarity, leadership alignment, and focused action, investors can gain a better understanding of a company’s potential for long-term success.
