Cisco and Nvidia have joined forces to create the Nexus HyperFabric, a new AI cluster solution aimed at simplifying the deployment and management of generative AI workloads for enterprise customers. This on-premises solution combines Nvidia’s AI software with the accelerated compute capabilities of Nvidia Tensor Core GPUs, Cisco’s native AI networking, and the VAST Data Platform. This collaboration allows users to design, deploy, and manage frameworks on a large scale in data centers, colocation facilities, and edge sites.
According to Jonathan Davidson, Cisco’s Networking executive vice president and general manager, the promise of AI is clear, but many businesses face challenges in getting their AI stack up and running. Cisco and Nvidia are committed to simplifying the deployment and operation of AI infrastructure by offering an easy-to-deploy, cloud-powered solution for on-premises deployments. This aligns with Cisco’s vision of the Networking Cloud platform for automation and simplicity.
The Nexus HyperFabric solution is set to offer trial access to select customers by the end of 2024, with general availability to follow. This collaboration between Cisco and Nvidia aims to provide enterprise customers with a streamlined and efficient way to deploy and operationalize generative AI workloads, addressing economic and operational challenges that many businesses face when venturing into the world of AI.
