Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) are in discussions to invest a combined $60 billion in OpenAI. Nvidia is said to be considering a commitment of $30 billion, Microsoft $10 billion, and Amazon between $10 billion and $20 billion. The talks are still preliminary and no terms have been finalized. However, the scale of interest underlines how strategically important OpenAI has become across cloud infrastructure, AI software, and model development.

This capital injection is part of a broader effort that could reach about $100 billion. The funding is aimed at covering the massive compute needs of next-generation models. If successful, the round could propel OpenAI’s valuation to approximately $830 billion.

This would be on top of the approximately $30 billion investment that SoftBank Group Corp. is planning to commit, further swelling the overall pool of capital tied to OpenAI’s expansion.

At the same time, that concentration of funding is also starting to raise eyebrows. Some Wall Street analysts have warned the AI sector may be showing early signs of a bubble, partly because of the circular nature of these deals. In practice, companies like Nvidia and Amazon provide funding that OpenAI then channels back into the ecosystem through purchases of chips and cloud capacity.
