Nutanix files lawsuit against Tessell alleging that founders utilized intellectual property to create competing products with remarkably similar features

Nutanix has filed a lawsuit against Tessell, accusing its founders of using company resources to develop a competing product while still employed at Nutanix. The lawsuit alleges that the Tessell founders used Nutanix source code and servers to create their product and wiped their company devices to cover their tracks. Nutanix claimed that Tessell’s product had strikingly similar features to Nutanix’s own product, leading to suspicions of intellectual property theft. Nutanix is seeking the return of stolen IP, an injunction, restitution, and monetary damages from Tessell. They have also initiated separate arbitration proceedings against the Tessell founders for violating their employee agreements. Both Nutanix and Tessell have been approached for comment.
