Nutanix, a leader in hybrid multi-cloud computing, has partnered with NVIDIA to make it easier for enterprises to adopt generative AI (GenAI). This collaboration involves integrating NVIDIA NIM Inference microservices with Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box 2.0, allowing customers to build scalable, secure, high-performance GenAI applications across the enterprise and at the edge.

The current focus of AI innovation is mainly on the public cloud, limiting access for smaller companies without dedicated data science teams. However, there is a growing interest in investing in AI strategies, including expanding investments at the edge, according to a report by AL company status. Nutanix’s integration of NVIDIA NIM microservices with GPT-in-a-Box 2.0 aims to address this gap by simplifying AI model deployment and execution for enterprise applications, expanding access to NVIDIA’s microservices portfolio without requiring extensive data science expertise.

The collaboration between Nutanix and NVIDIA aims to streamline the process of implementing AI solutions, which can be complex and challenging for many companies. Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box simplifies the creation of an AI-ready stack, integrating with Nutanix Objects and Nutanix Files for data storage while providing control over data access. The new features in GPT-in-a-Box 2.0 automate the deployment and execution of inference endpoints for various AI models, ensuring secure model access through auditing and access control.

NIM microservices on the Nutanix Cloud Platform enable seamless AI inference across different models, including open source community models and NVIDIA AI Foundation models. Nutanix also announced certification for the NVIDIA Enterprise AI 5.0 Software platform to facilitate the development and deployment of production-grade AI, including NVIDIA NIM.

Tarkan Maner, chief commercial officer at Nutanix, emphasized the value of this collaboration in simplifying GenAI adoption for enterprises while maintaining control over costs and privacy. Manuvir Das, vice president of Enterprise Computing at NVIDIA, highlighted the benefits of integrating NVIDIA NIM into Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box, providing enterprises with an AI-ready solution for deploying optimized models into production.

Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box 2.0 is expected to be available in the second half of 2024, offering an easier path for enterprises to incorporate GenAI into their operations. This collaboration between Nutanix and NVIDIA aims to accelerate AI initiatives and make it more accessible for organizations looking to leverage AI technologies across the enterprise and at the edge.
