The hour-long downtime last week when starting the online workspace Notion was caused by phishing complaints, according to the startup’s domain registrar.
Notion was offline for most of the morning on Friday, plunging its four million+ users into corporate obscurity as the company cited a “very unusual DNS problem at the registry operator level.” Because the company’s domain was offline, users could not access their files, calendars, and documents.
