The music industry has criticized Scott Farquhar for the lack of a way to train AI models in Australia under existing copyright laws, arguing that 80 percent of recorded music could be licensed under four contracts and the underlying release under just one.
The Atlassian co-founder and chair of the Tech Council of Australia told the Australian Financial Review AI Summit on Tuesday that tech giants would have to “contract with every single recording artist around the world” to train an artificial intelligence model in Australia.
