Dallas, Texas – Nokia, in collaboration with the Trump Administration, today announced plans to expand its research, development and manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. and invest $4 billion to accelerate innovation in AI-enabled mobile, wireline access, IP, optical and data center network technologies. The planned multi-year investment comes in addition to the $2.3 billion Nokia invested in U.S. manufacturing, research and development, and AI connectivity through its purchase of Infinera. In addition, Infinera previously announced a $456 million investment for two U.S. manufacturing facilities that received CHIPS Act incentives.
Nokia expects to invest approximately $3.5 billion in research and development in the U.S., reflecting the company’s strong commitment to advancing the next generation of connectivity and AI technology across all facets of networking, including mobile, wireline, IP, optical, data center networking technologies and mission-critical/defense solutions.
