Nier fans won’t have to wait long to play the franchise’s first mobile entry. First teased in 2020, announced Square Enix today via announced IGN it will release Kidney reincarnation on July 28th. The drain also shared a new trailer for the game this suggests some of the most important story beats that will play out.
Styled as an action RPG, reincarnation sees a character named Girl in White wake up in a place called Cage. A ghost named Mama is there to help the girl and tell the story as she unfolds. As with previous Nier titles, it looks like the gameplay is in reincarnation will sometimes switch between different perspectives. While it was developed by Applibot, a Japanese developer best known for mobile games like Grimoire A, reincarnation includes posts from those most closely associated with the series, including Yoko Taro and Keiichi Okabe. reincarnation will be downloaded for free when it launches Android and iOS. When you pre-register for the game, you will receive a welcome pack that comes with the in-game gem currency. Square Enix told IGN it would increase the number of gems that are issued per 100,000 players who pre-register.
