NFL coordinator predicts big things for Jaguars’ safety Andre Cisco

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Andre Cisco was recognized in an honorable mention category by anonymous executives, coaches, and scouts in a vote conducted by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler for the upcoming 2024 NFL season. While he didn’t make the top 10 safety rankings, he received praise from a NFC coordinator who sees him as potentially becoming an all-time great ball hawk. The coordinator stated that Cisco has the ability to create turnovers at an elite level and could surpass 30 career interceptions.

Currently, only one player in Jaguars history, cornerback Rashean Mathis, has achieved 30 career interceptions. Andre Cisco, a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, has already recorded seven interceptions, ranking him 11th among franchise leaders in this category. In his three seasons as the Jaguars’ starting free safety, Cisco has accumulated 161 total tackles, along with 1.5 sacks, 17 passes defensed, and three forced fumbles.

Despite not making the top 10 rankings, Cisco’s impact on the field has been significant, with eight total turnovers and 15 passes defensed in the 30 games he has played since assuming the starting role in 2022. His potential to continue growing and contributing to the team’s defense has impressed those in the league who participated in the survey conducted by ESPN.

In addition to Cisco’s recognition, his teammates Travis Etienne Jr. and Joshua Hines-Allen were named among the top 10 players at their respective positions in the same survey. The Jaguars have a promising group of players who are making their mark in the league, with Cisco standing out as a player with the potential to become a standout performer in the NFL.
