NextDC plans to invest .7 billion to meet data center demand

ASX-listed data center operator NextDC says it will spend up to $2.7 billion building facilities this year, meaning the company will need to take on more debt to meet rising demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.

In announcing its half-year results on Wednesday evening, the company said it expects full-year capital spending to be in the range of $2.4 billion to $2.7 billion, above previous forecasts, after customers committed to leasing an additional 240.5 megawatts of computing capacity last year.
