Bosses at Nine and ABC News see productivity benefits from AI, but there are still things old-fashioned journalism can do better.
TV news bosses see benefits in what AI can bring to newsrooms, but are confident there are some fundamentals it can never replace.

“It can allow you to find things quicker and access information quicker,
“One thing I want to say about AI is that I don’t think it will ever spread a story. I’m sure some people out there will tell me that one day they will develop a version of it that can have an original idea. But at the moment I can’t imagine that happening,” he said at the RMIT 100 Years of Television symposium.
