The new VMware CEO Rangarajan “Raghu” Raghuram wants to help partners grow their business and take advantage of new opportunities with the company.
Raghuram becomes CEO on June 1st. He is currently Executive Vice President and COO for Products and Cloud Services. He joined VMware almost 18 years ago.
The search for a new CEO began after Pat Gelsinger decided to leave VMware to return to Intel as CEO in February. He served as CEO of VMware for more than eight years.
Since joining VMware, Raghuram has managed the company’s strategic direction and technological development. He also helped grow its core virtualization business and drove VMware’s software-defined data center strategy.
He also built and led VMware’s cloud computing business and SaaS transformation efforts. He also played a pivotal role in the company’s M&A strategy.
