Azure IoT Edge has recently launched its latest long-term service (LTS) release, version 1.5. This version will be supported with fixes for regressions and critical security issues until November 10, 2026, as per the product life cycle. The complete release notes for IoT Edge v1.5 LTS can be accessed on the GitHub launch page.
For those currently using IoT Edge v1.4 LTS, support will be available until November 26, 2024. However, to ensure continued support and receive security patches, it is recommended to update to the latest LTS version.
In addition, a companion release for Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW) 1.5 LTS is expected to be released in the third quarter of this calendar year. The release notes for EFLOW can be found on the EFLOW GitHub Releases Page.
