New Perplexity tool lets investors query private markets with PitchBook data

Firmographic data is basic descriptive information about a business—such as industry, size, revenue band, number of employees, location, and ownership type—that acts like demographic data does for people. For investors it’s a quick way to map market segments, compare peers, estimate addressable market and operational risk, and prioritize targets or customers, much like a map and profile help a shopper decide which neighborhoods and stores to visit.

A conversational interface is a software layer—like a chat window or voice assistant—that lets people interact with a product or service using natural language instead of menus or buttons. For investors, it matters because these interfaces can change how easily customers buy, get support, or access information, impacting sales, costs and user data collection much like replacing a slow teller with a helpful front‑desk representative.
