For a brand, celebrity endorsement is a big deal. Get Hollywood’s newest sweetheart on your side and the impact could be greater than a large-scale campaign, but it’s not easy. Celebrities look for partnerships that strengthen their personal brands. That’s why top stars are usually very selective about who they work with. So it came as quite a surprise when fans recently saw Taylor Swift promoting a new get-rich-quick scheme on TikTok.
Obviously, this will immediately feel like a scam to the majority of your internet-savvy readers. However, a few fraudsters were able to obtain their personal information under the guise of trustworthiness. Given the increasing volume and sophistication of these scams, it’s understandable that Taylor and other celebrities are increasingly seeking legal protection against AI deepfakes.
