The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has entered into a collaborative research and development agreement (CRADA) with Microsoft to integrate and leverage emerging technologies at the service of warfare and national security, the Navy announced May 2.
NPS will leverage Microsoft cloud services as part of CRADA, and the pair will also explore operational use of cloud-extended networking and edge computing as part of the agreement.
“Today, so much innovation and technological research and development is being driven by America’s robust corporate base,” Aaron Weis, the Navy’s chief information officer, said in the press release. “The Department of the Navy has attempted to find ways for our organizations to emulate and evolve with the nimble agility of these organizations, and has been successful.”
