Following the recent leaks, Motorola silently launched its latest smartwatch, the new Moto Watch 100. First discovered by Droid life, The device is a mid-range offering with great battery life and a host of health features, but you won’t find Wear OS on board.

The Moto Watch 100 has a 1.3-inch LCD that is housed in a 42-mm aluminum case. The light on is a 355 mAh battery that, according to Motorola, can last up to two weeks. This is probably because the company decided to do without Wear OS and to build in a proprietary “Moto Watch OS”.

Motorola says its new Moto Watch OS “has the features you need without the battery-guzzling apps you don’t need”. These include heart rate, sleep tracking, weight tracking, SpO2 monitoring and 26 sport modes. And the watch has a companion app that allows users to keep track of all of their readings. It’s available for Android, with the iOS version coming in December.

While Wear OS fans may not be happy with its absence, the watch touts better battery life than many others best android smartwatches and even has an always-on display, something that even they lacked OnePlus watch when it was first launched.

Bluetooth 5 and GPS can be found under the hood, and thanks to the quick charge function, the Moto Watch 100 can be charged in just 60 minutes.

Although unlikely to compete for the premium Galaxy Watch 4, Moto Watch 100 looks like a compelling smartwatch with a great design and affordable price, which makes it much more accessible.
