More than a quarter (27%) of UK workers fear their jobs could disappear in the next five years due to AI, according to a survey of thousands of employees.
According to international recruitment firm Randstad’s annual report on the world of work, two-thirds (66%) of UK employers said they had invested in AI in the last 12 months, while more than half (56%) of employees said more companies were encouraging the use of AI tools in the workplace.
According to Randstad’s survey of 27,000 workers and 1,225 organizations in 35 countries, this resulted in “mismatched AI expectations” between the views of employees and their employers about the impact of AI on jobs. Just under half (45%) of British office workers surveyed believed AI would benefit businesses more than employees.
