iOS 16 is chock-full of new features and changes, and today we shared six interesting and unknown features Apple is bringing to the iPhone. Now we’re sharing six more “iOS 16” tidbits.
Easy management of known WiFi networks
Besides can View your WiFi password in iOS 16users can now easily manage known and managed WiFi networks. On the Wi-Fi page in Settings, tap Edit and authenticate with touch identification or Face ID. From there you can delete known networks and view their details.
Cleaner iCloud settings page
Apple has revised the layout and structure of iCloud Settings in the Settings app on the iPhone. The page is now divided into different sections, including Sync with iCloud, Device Backups, and iCloud+.
Within the photos, iCloud driveFor Notes, Messages, Health & Passwords, and Keychain sub-pages, Apple added a new icon, a small paragraph explaining the feature, and the ability to manage per-app functionality and storage.
New AirPods glyph in Control Center and now playing
When you’re connected to AirPods, a new corresponding glyph for your AirPods model will appear in the Now Playing section of Control Center and on the lock screen. This replaces the old one air game Icon that stays static no matter what device you’re using.
Holding new battery charge Alarm
As spotted on Twitter (1, 2) “iOS 16” now warns users when the system has stopped charging the “iPhone” due to overheating, which could affect battery life. The new notification will appear on the lock screen, in the notification center and on the battery page in settings.
Redesigned text and editing menu
Apple has redesigned the text and edit menu option on “iOS 16”, made it cleaner and now offers it in both light and dark themes depending on the current mode of your “iPhone”. In cases where the menu is longer, Apple has also adjusted the behavior when scrolling through options.
Quick Note is coming to the iPhone
Introduced in iPad OS 15 and macOS Monterey, Quick Note has come to the “iPhone” with “iOS 16”. Quick Note can be accessed from the share sheet on iOS including for images, websites and more.
Contacts widget now shows unread messages
The Contacts widget now shows if you have unread messages from a specific contact. The unread message banner is limited to the medium and large widgets for the Contacts app.
