More and more buyers are turning to AI – carsales.com.au – when looking for their next car

Artificial intelligence is changing the way Australians choose and search for their next car. Carsales’ latest consumer sentiment survey shows a clear generational shift towards AI-powered shopping.

Based on data collected from more than 2,000 respondents, up to 35 percent of buyers said they want to use or are already using AI to help them find a car.

Millennials (born 1981-1996) are the population group that most often uses AI in their searches at just over 50 percent, followed by Generation Z (born 1997-2012) at 45 percent.

Among those using AI, ChatGPT by OpenAI is the clear leader, with more than 70 percent of users choosing it as their preferred tool.
