“Misogyny with a marketing budget”: British AI company accused of sexist advertising

An AI company that recently secured millions in investment has been accused of running a misogynistic and sexist advertising campaign.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has received at least seven complaints about Narwhal Labs’ campaign, including an advert featuring a woman next to the slogan: “She outperforms everyone. And she will never ask for a pay rise.”

The ad goes on to say: “Meet your new AI employee. Always available, never sick and no HR required.”

The Guardian understands that the complaints received by the ASA question whether the adverts are misogynistic and are currently being assessed to determine whether there are grounds for further action, although no formal investigation has yet been launched.
