Microsoft’s government cloud offering bundles compliance infrastructure into a single SKU for federal, state, and local agencies—while OpenAI’s OneGov deal offers free access without a deployment platform.
“We are committed to providing federal agencies with the most advanced AI capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance,” Microsoft stated in its Agent 365 GCC service description. On October 1, 2026, Microsoft made that commitment concrete. Agent 365 GCC is now generally available to federal, state, and local government agencies, bringing Copilot agents, autonomous task execution, and the full 365 agent stack into FedRAMP-authorized environments. This is the first major enterprise AI agent platform explicitly targeting government cloud compliance from launch.
