Microsoft to Make Copilot Key Reprogrammable

Microsoft in 2024 announced the AI PC specification that introduces a dedicated Copilot key for laptops and desktops. This would be a key dedicated to launching the Copilot or M365 Copilot app, similar to the two Start keys. Quite a few OEMs simply replaced the right-hand Ctrl or Context Menu key with the Copilot key. The company has been reeling in pushback from the userbase over being force-fed Copilot integration with all Microsoft products and services, including XBOX. In light of this, the company is working on an update to Windows 11 that makes the Copilot key reprogrammable by end-users. You should be able to remap the key to a Context Menu key, your missing Right Ctrl key, or an additional Start key.
