Microsoft Support placeholders were briefly displayed today for two upcoming Surface Laptop 4 models – an AMD and an Intel model. The placeholders were discovered by @walkingcat:

The placeholders are already gone, but the German news site WinFuture provided More details last month. The AMD models will be equipped with the latest generation Ryzen 5 4680U and Ryzen 7 4980U, while the Intel models will be equipped with the brand new Core i5-1145G7 and Core i7-1185G7.

According to this WinFuture report, the AMD models are again only offered at lower specifications. Intel models offer up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage space. The AMD models are limited to a maximum of 16 GB or 512 GB. On the positive side, the AMD models should be available with 13.5-inch screens for the first time this year.

We expect broadly official announcements of these and other Surface products at Microsoft’s Spring Surface launch in the next week or two.

To update: Winlatest discovered FCC filings for four variants of Microsoft’s “portable computing devices” that are likely to be the Surface Laptop 4: C3K1979, C3K1958, C3K1952 and C3K1950.
