Microsoft Says It’s Fixing Windows…But I’m Not Buying It

Windows is my desktop operating system of choice, but I often feel like Microsoft doesn’t care about it as much as I do. That’s hopefully starting to change, as the company now says it’s listening to feedback like mine. Pavan Davuluri, Microsoft’s president for Windows and devices, recently announced major upcoming changes that, according to a separate Microsoft spokesperson, are just “the starting point of a significant effort underway to raise the bar on Windows quality.”

I’m cautiously optimistic. I want to believe Windows can be better, and it sounds like Microsoft is acknowledging the many complaints it has ignored for years. But this isn’t the first time the company has committed to refocusing on what PC users actually want from Windows.
