Once, the Calendar app integrated into Windows was a capable scheduling companion. However, following several updates between Windows 10 and 11, the Windows calendar is now almost entirely useless.
Microsoft removed everything that made the Calendar useful
At one point, the Calendar built into Windows wasn’t just a way to see the date, it was a practical tool.
With it, you could add or remove events, and those events would be conveniently displayed when you clicked on the small flyout menu. If you had something like Microsoft Teams installed, you could connect the two so that you could instantly join a meeting from your taskbar, instead of searching around for the Teams app.
It was quick, convenient, and capable enough to be useful. Now it can only display the date.
