Microsoft releases another patch for Insiders on the Windows 10 October 2018 Update

The Windows 10 October 2018 Update still hasn't launched officially due to a show stopping bug that has delayed the released by a few weeks. Today, Microsoft has rolled out another patch for Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings, bringing further fixes before official rollout begins.

Today's patch brings the October 2018 Update build number to 17763.107, and includes the following changes:

  • We fixed the issue where dragging (extracting) files from a .zip file in File Explorer to a write-protected location you don't get a “Do you want to replace these files” prompt and the copy action fails silently.
  • We fixed an issue causing roaming profiles to not work correctly.

Microsoft has just one day left before October is over, rending the name “October 2018 Update” somewhat misleading. The company has not said when it will begin rolling the October 2018 Update officially, and judging by how things are going, it won't be happening until the company is sure the update is stable enough for release.

If you can't wait for the official update to hit, you can join the Insider Program's Release Preview ring to get access to the update now. The user data deletion issue has been fixed already, so there's no need to worry about that anymore.
