REDMOND, WA: Microsoft has promoted Ben Lampe to general manager of global communications.
Lampe started in the role this month, succeeding Doug Dawson, who has moved into the role of VP of cloud and AI communications at Microsoft. At the PRWeek Global Awards 2025, Dawson won the award for Global Professional – In-house.
In his new position, Lampe reports to global chief communications officer Frank Shaw, according to a Microsoft statement. Lampe will oversee Microsoft’s communications across all markets globally outside of the U.S.
Lampe has worked at Microsoft for 12 years in various roles. Most recently, he was senior director of communications for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He relocated from Munich to Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, last year as part of long-term succession planning, a company statement said.
