A significant outage at Microsoft has impacted several of its services, including Bing.com, Copilot for web and mobile, Copilot on Windows, ChatGPT internet search, and DuckDuckGo. The outage began around 3 a.m. EDT and mainly affected users in Asia and Europe. Users trying to access Bing.com may encounter a blank page or an HTTP error code 429, but the search functionality still works if accessed directly. However, Copilot is completely offline across all platforms. Internet search services like ChatGPT and DuckDuckGo are also experiencing similar issues due to their reliance on the Bing API.
DuckDuckGo is displaying an error message stating, “There was an error displaying search results. Please try again.” While Microsoft has not provided any official comment on the outage, OpenAI has acknowledged issues with ChatGPT internet search on its Support page.
Update 1: Microsoft has confirmed an issue with users accessing the Copilot service and is working to identify the cause. More information can be found on the administration center at CP795190, as noted in a post on X. This is a developing story, and additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
