Microsoft has announced that it has connected massive datacenters in Wisconsin and Atlanta through a high-speed fiber-optic network, creating what it calls the world’s first “planet-scale AI superfactory.” The new system links the two sites — roughly 700 miles and five states apart — to function as a single, unified computing complex designed specifically for artificial intelligence.
