Microsoft has announced the general availability of its India South Central cloud region in Hyderabad, Telangana, reinforcing its hyperscale cloud presence in the country. First announced in 2022, this is Microsoft’s fourth cloud region in India, complementing existing regions in Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai.The new Hyderabad region comprises three availability zones and incorporates enhanced mechanical cooling systems with air-cooled chillers. According to Microsoft, the facility provides customers with the option to run eligible Microsoft Cloud services and workloads from Hyderabad, backed by the security, reliability, and support of a fully operational Microsoft region. The company stated that India South Central strengthens the country’s foundation for scalable and sovereign-ready artificial intelligence (AI).
