Microsoft Kaizala Globally Available


Leading communication and technology company, Microsoft recently announced that their new “Kaizala” solution would be rolling out to all eligible Office 365 and Microsoft 365 commercial customers. The Microsoft Kaizala experience will be generally available in 180 markets, in 40 languages, and is designed to bring unique new features to the Microsoft solution.

Kaizala keeps people connected both inside and outside of a contact directory. Whether you’re engaging with flexible workers, freelancers, vendors, or contractors, Kaizala has you covered. There’s even a phone number-based identity access system for easy onboarding and an immersive UI for better user experience.

What Does Microsoft Kaizala Do?

Microsoft Kaizala gives companies the opportunity to create organisational groups, build custom workflows and integrations, and gather useful analytics. Anyone in the open Kaizala directory can connect with your team, and you can unlock secure work management with messaging and video integrated. Microsoft is also offering built-in action cards like survey, training, and poll so that you can coordinate work effectively.

Kaizala’s highly extensible platform also means that you can build customised workflows to suit your needs and gather insights from state-of-the-art reporting systems. The solution initially launched in India in 2017 and has been rolling out to specific markets since. The positive feedback that Microsoft received prompted the company to deliver Kaizala to all Office 365 customers around the world.

Connecting Microsoft Kaizala to Microsoft Teams

The functionality of Kaizala complements the highly reliable and robust communication and collaboration solutions in Microsoft Teams. Microsoft believes that giving every member in a company’s network access to the same collaboration tools – regardless of whether they’re inside or outside of the directory, transforms the way that work gets done.

Kaizala capabilities will soon be embedded into Microsoft Teams as an integrated offering within the next 12 to 18 months. Microsoft also recently announced a host of new features to their Kaizala platform, including:

  • @Mentions to tag specific members in a chat and call their attention to crucial conversations
  • The option to delete messages within an hour of sending (or at any time for admins)
  • A Kaizala web app to quickly search through and access chat conversations. The web app also allows for sending documents and access cards from a laptop or PC
  • Video calling for face-to-face conversations between users, wherever they are
  • Image annotation for a richer experience when sharing photos and visuals
  • Kaizala Me feature to deliver private chat for a single user. Kaizala me is excellent for taking notes and sending yourself reminders

What’s Next for Microsoft Kaizala?

Alongside the host of new features and impending integration with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft also released a new and improved Kaizala Management Portal to make managing groups easier. There’s also the new in-region data residency feature to give customers a more robust failover experience.

Microsoft announced that it was excited to be connecting Microsoft with Teams and delivering new opportunities for their customers. Going forward, the business will continue to work on several new capabilities requested by customers. Future features include a new admin role for management of specific Kaizala policies, and the option to sync to Azure Active Directory in the app.
